Devblog 020: Clans Reborn, and Return of the Battlefield Event

Clans Reborn Plugin Added

We’ve upgraded to a better Clans plugin, called Clans Reborn! No clans were deleted, but there are many new features, including:

Alliances! (use /a to access this channel)
New Clan rank, Council, that can speak in Alliance chat
Invited members have 1 day to accept clan invite
Admins can rename clans (no toxic clan names, please!)
Inactive clans expire after 14 days

Chat Plugin

Nivex has made huge strides on his custom chat plugin this week. Overall, it should be 19x faster than what we were using before! This has been a huge strain on server performance and it seems we finally have made some headway regarding this, so performance should be much better now. Stay tuned as we work out kinks with it. Some notable features include:

Chat spam filter (no repeating the same messages)
Advanced word filters
Auto punctuation and sentence case

Return of the Battlefield Event

Starting next week Battlefield events will return. They will be enabled on Monday night through Thursday until each wipe.

The top 3 players with the most kills FROM KILLS INSIDE THE ARENA will receive the PvP tag award. Kills outside of the arena (/top) will not count. To track your kills use /bf while the event is enabled. During this time, Deathmatch events will be disabled.

When the Battlefield event is enabled players may respawn without using a sleeping bag to participate. Players who do this will be automatically teleported into the arena with a full battlefield kit. You must have at least 1 sleeping bag down to be eligible to participate.

Event Fixes

New spawn points have been added for duels, so you shouldn’t wake up next to your opponent as much! Stay tuned this week while we test our new 3v3 Clan duels!
